Programmes:

John McCole was injured after 20 minutes and had to be replaced by Peter Fitzgerald at Centre-Forward. Fitzgerald took advantage of his good fortune and notched two goals, as did Don Revie. the same incident also saw Joe Shaw forced to leave the field and replaced at Left-Back by Billy McCullough of Arsenal. Ron Staniforth and Danny Clapton replied for the All Stars in the second half. Adverse weather conditions had a sad effect on the gate and nothing seemed to go to plan as firstly John Charles was refused permission to play by the Italian F.A. in what would have been his tribute to his former coaches. Then, Worse still, he was fog bound in Turin and unable to perform the kick-off duties as a token of his appreciation to his former Coach and Trainer.
